Quantum Spatial Search in Two-Dimensional Waveguide Arrays

چکیده
Continuous-time quantum walks (CTQW) have shown the capability to perform efficiently spatial search of a marked site on many kinds graphs. However, most such graphs are hard realize in an experimental setting. Here we study CTQW planar triangular lattice by means both numerical simulations and experiments. The experiments performed using three-dimensional waveguide arrays fabricated femtosecond laser pulses, illuminated coherent light. We show that retrieval walker is accomplished with higher probability than classical counterpart, convenient time window placed early evolution.

Diffraction control in periodically curved two-dimensional waveguide arrays.
We study propagation of light beams in two-dimensional photonic lattices created by periodically curved waveguide arrays. We demonstrate that by designing the waveguide bending, one can control not only the strength and sign of the beam diffraction, but also to engineer the effective geometry and even dimensionality of the two-dimensional photonic lattice. We reveal that diffraction of differen...
متن کاملDiscrete Talbot effect in two-dimensional waveguide arrays.
We theoretically study discrete Talbot self-imaging in hexagonal, square, and irregular two-dimensional waveguide arrays. Different from its counterpart in a continuous system, the periods of the input fields must belong to {1, 2, 3, 4, 6} for Talbot self-imaging. Also, the combinations of the input periods cannot be 3 & 4, or 4 & 6 along two different directions, which distinguishes itself fro...

متن کاملQuantum walks of correlated photon pairs in two-dimensional waveguide arrays.
We demonstrate quantum walks of correlated photons in a two-dimensional network of directly laser written waveguides coupled in a "swiss cross" arrangement. The correlated detection events show high-visibility quantum interference and unique composite behavior: strong correlation and independence of the quantum walkers, between and within the planes of the cross. Violations of a classically def...
متن کاملSpatial Optical Solitons in Waveguide Arrays
We overview theoretical and experimental results on spatial optical solitons excited in arrays of nonlinear waveguides. First, we briefly summarize the basic properties of the discrete nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation frequently employed to study spatially localized modes in arrays, the so-called discrete solitons. Then, we introduce an improved analytical model that describes a periodic st...
